This page explains the process from applying for a position at IAESTE Japan to starting your internship.

Item | Content |

Internship Host | A company or university that offers internship opportunities to students. |
Offer | A predetermined format in which the internship host states the student’s field of expertise and required skills to be accepted by the host institution, as well as the accommodation and housing to be provided |
Intern Candidate | After application, the student must complete an interview with the professor in charge of IAESTE Japan and be approved as an Intern Candidate. The right as a candidate is valid as long as you have a student registration. |
IAESTE A.s.b.l. | A non-profit organization registered in Luxembourg and the international umbrella organization for IAESTE. A.s.b.l. stands for Association sans but lucratif . |
Exchange Platform | A system for opening and submitting offers operated by IAESTE A.s.b.l.. You need to register first to use the system. |
Steps to internship
Application is accepted twice a year; it is common to apply in September and have an internship during the summer of the following year.
Yet, the timing and duration of the internship will depend on the conditions of the offer.

September Recruitment
The following table explains the process to start an internship if you apply in September.

October | Applicants must pass an interview with the professor in charge of IAESTE to be an `Intern Candidate'. | Same as on the left |
November ~ February | IAESTE Japan exchanges offers with other member countries based on each candidate’s specialization and preferences, and assigns them to each candidate (called “matching”) | The following steps will be repeated until the internship host is confirmed.

From March onwards | The candidate submits Nomination Documents, which are then reviewed by the Internship host. ↓After receiving the review result notification, attend the internship preparation, and complete procedures for VISA etc. | Continue the above procedure until the Internship Host is confirmed. |
April Recruitment
